Each of us has dreams and goals that we want to achieve. But for some reason all this remains dreams, castles in the sand and things that cannot be obtained. Why is that? We underestimate the power of planning and planning any business. What is your current plan for your life, goals and dreams? You must have a plan. If it is not there, then you will never be able to achieve everything that you dreamed of at night.
When you are young, it always seems that life has not come, and you are always writing for a draft. You can redo it a little later, for example tomorrow, that week, after the holidays, or next year. But then you realize that you are no longer young and not promising, and your planned life has not come yet. You had too many goals and dreams, but too little time and energy left.
Some people do not plan anything in life, preferring to live in the present, not even thinking about the near future. This all leads to the fact that all the dreams and goals that you desire are unfulfilled. We hate making plans too much, and therefore are doomed to sit at a broken trough for the rest of our lives. Improvisation is fun, but often imprudent in the long run.
Why plan and why plan life?
Sometimes we ask ourselves: “Why do we need a plan if I already know what to do”. People are divided into two groups of people according to the organization of time and affairs. The former do not like to make plans for life, act chaotically, often succumb to laziness, are prone to apathy and do not achieve anything. The latter are clearly aware of their desires, always make up a plan of action, clearly follow the routine, educate discipline, achieve goals and enjoy life.
If you want to get exactly the result, and not to portray violent activity, you should act according to a clearly developed plan. It is he who will not let go to the side, succumbing to laziness, weakness or lack of character. You need to have a plan in order to clearly move towards the goal, and not deal with chaotic, inconsistent and questionable affairs.
Every minute or hour you spend planning will save you a lot of time and effort in the future. We can save not only hours and days, but entire years of life. A clear, specific and correct plan will help you choose the best fast path to your goal, instead of randomly wandering in the hope of miracles. Certainly good chances and miracles happen, but they must always be prepared, not just waiting.
What is a plan for? Pros of the plan:
- The plan gives a clear understanding of the affairs for today, tomorrow and the following days.
- Scheduling helps you better manage your time and save energy.
- Planning encourages you to keep pace, be less lazy, and not give up halfway.
- You do not forget anything, because all the tasks for the future are scheduled in your plan.
- Scheduling helps you group tasks, automate, or find the best options for action.
- The plan helps you evaluate your actions and measure your achievements in accordance with the plan.
- Planning stimulates you to reach your goal when you see the ultimate dreams.
Long and short term planning
The plan is set for different time intervals: five years, three years, a year, six months, a month, a week, a day, an hour. We overestimate what we can do today, but underestimate what can be achieved in a year or more.
It should start with global and long-term plans. What do you want to achieve in these 5 years and where do you want to see yourself? What will your life look like in the future if everything is perfect? What would you like to achieve and what are the ways to achieve this? What goals should be set and how should they be achieved during this time? What results have been obtained and what are the control points in the time range?
Short-term planning is detailed action that is more local and specific. The huge tasks are broken down into sub-tasks that will be completed soon. Plan things not only for weeks and months, but also for days. A daily plan will increase productivity and give you control over your actions.
Find the strength to instill the habit of planning daily. This will help you to use your time and energy efficiently, without splashing out on stupidity.
Do you need a plan B?
Each of us has a plan "A", which is a perfect vision of our future. It achieved the desired goals, and you did not have to compromise. But maybe this is not true? After all, if plan "A" fails, then you will feel terribly bad. Maybe you should draw up a plan "B", "C" and "D" in advance?
Risk hedging is good, but it is often the one that destroys us. The idea is quite logical. But what is a backup plan for? This is the plan of the cowardly, the weak, or the lazy. When you want to accomplish what you are burning with, then Plan B should not be. Your Plan B is compromise, betrayal and complete shit.
In life, there is only plan "A", which is worth adhering to. Everything else is the inner voice of a coward or weakling who persuades you to give up and betray yourself.
How to plan in the face of uncertainty?
What is a plan for when life often goes wrong? Life turns out to be wider in our fantasies about it, because you can't plan everything for such a long time. We need to plan actions in the time horizon that lends itself to our control.
It's hard for you to say what will happen in a year or five years, when you can only imagine it approximately. So plan for large ranges approximately, as if making large strokes of paint while painting a picture. You will make smaller strokes when the situation is more clear and definite. For short periods of time, you will apply specific and specific actions that are best suited to the situation.
Often the reason for planning failure is a lack of patience in reaching a certain point in the plan, as well as an inability to build cause-and-effect relationships. Sometimes people take life too lightly, do not know how to realistically assess the consequences and are not ready to make consistent efforts.
So people are in the clouds, there are unrealistic plans and then they get upset that nothing happened. It should be understood that planning is not a beautiful fairy tale about successful success, but a real plan of action, which is a clear vision of the situation. Forget the motivational speakers who are in the clouds and promise mountains of gold. See life with a sober eye.
How to make a plan?
1. The plan should be clear and concise
Often we don't know exactly what we want to achieve. We do not set measurable goals, and therefore we do not achieve anything in the end. All your plans should be in the form of numbers, facts and graphs. Make your plan as clear and concise as possible so that there is no ambiguity or ambiguity.
- You want to lose 10 kilograms and make your figure fit.
- You dream of earning N thousand dollars a month.
- You want to do a certain job or work in a certain area.
- You want to have a certain apartment, a certain car and a certain level of life.
You also need to designate the specific planning time that is needed to achieve each goal.
2. The plan must be convincing and realistic
Often, it is unmarried ladies who have exaggerated requirements for men, placing such requests on them that even the best powerful of this world do not fit them. Usually unmarried singles, especially young ones, always have a misconception about reality. But married or married people can perfectly describe the desired object, which they wanted and received.
It turns out that the less experience and more fantasy about a handsome prince, the more generalized and incorrect representation of your dreams. So there is very little chance of achieving what you want. The plan must be convincing and real, and not like a naive fantasy of millions of dollars and crazy fame. When dreaming and making plans, do not part with reality, but rather approach it. Determine options for achieving the desired based on the harsh reality of life.
3. Choose the most important planning
The Pareto principle says that 80% of the result comes from 20% of your effort, while the remaining 20% of the result comes from the remaining 80% of the effort. What does this mean? This speaks specifically to what the plan is for. The plan should cut off unnecessary 80% of unnecessary actions, extraneous interference and meaningless body movements. Determine specifically what will bring you the desired result. Take away everything that does not bring you closer to your dream, and leave only your most productive actions. If you concentrate on something specific, then the success and speed of movement towards a specific goal can become multiples.
Choose only the most important in planning, and get rid of the rest as much as possible and most importantly regularly. Remove from life everything that only holds you, dissipates strength, takes time and does not allow you to concentrate on the main thing. Do only what will bring profit. Everything else is dust.
4. Plan for the future
What is a plan for in life, business and other matters? The plan helps to see what actions need to be taken today in order to get the desired result in years. Thoughts are big, but act locally. Often, today's job, current lifestyle, existing education and insufficient experience do not allow achieving a future goal. If all this does not lead to a final point, then the situation should be changed to keep within the plan. We need to study today, take courses and gain experience in order to change jobs or get a promotion in six months.
5. The plan must be consistent
If in 5 years everything should be perfect for you, but what should be in a year or a month? What kind of lifestyle, income and activities should you have today? What do you need to do every day, how to control deviations and adjust your life? Make up the intermediate points to which you must come, as well as your specific actions at each site. After that, keep the sequence of your efforts and actions.
6. Adjust your plan constantly
Even the most thoughtful plan can go wrong. You meet a closed door, where you expected an open one, or there may be a wall. What to do? Look for workarounds or climb out the window.
It is difficult to foresee everything in life when the situation may change not in your direction. You cannot take into account all the risks, surprises of fate and the unpredictability of life. If you see that you are not meeting the plan, then consider changing your tactics. How can you increase the likelihood of reaching the plan if something goes wrong? What are the possible growth points to meet the desired result at this stage of the plan?
If you cannot find a job in six months, can you lower your salary expectations, and first gain experience in this area? Can you get additional education or look for a new job in another city? Adjust your plan constantly if something goes wrong. This will allow you to meet the plan for a longer planning period and get the desired result just in time.
7. Discipline and routine
From childhood, we were taught to discipline at home, in kindergarten, school, university, army, at work. But discipline often lamented throughout life. We love to be lazy too much, but we rarely like to do something according to plan. You should cultivate discipline and the ability to follow your plan for today.
What is a plan for if you are not going to carry it out? What do you need to do charmingly today? When you have an iron discipline and a clear schedule for the day, then you can achieve what you want. You must stick to the plan if you really want to change your life for the better, and not just imitate hectic activity.
You will really want to believe in old age that you have disposed of your life and the allotted time correctly. The only obstacle to the realization of your dreams and your goals is your current self-doubt and excessive laziness. Take action today, make a plan and achieve your dreams. You won't have another life.
