Every inhabitant of planet Earth is unique, and you are no exception. You, like other people, have distinctive features. Perhaps you are an active and impulsive person, or, conversely, slow and cautious. Maybe you talk a lot and loudly, show emotions vividly, or, on the contrary, are low-emotional and silent. How can these features be explained? Are they congenital or do they change throughout life? To answer these and other questions, study the very concept of "temperament" first.
What is "temperament"?
Temperament is a set of individual innate properties of the psyche responsible for the inhibition and excitation of the nervous system, the speed of certain mental processes, as well as for emotional stability. Simply put, it depends on the temperament:
- the speed at which thoughts arise;
- speed of reactions;
- switching attention;
- adaptation;
- emotionality and mood stability;
- pace of work;
- the speed of memorization and recollection.

So, you now know what “temperament” is, what types of human temperament exist, and what to do with your own characteristics. This is very important information, because the deeper you explore yourself, the more you can change for the better (for example, character and behavior). It is especially important to take into account your innate characteristics when choosing a profession, because you spend most of your life at work. Also remember that there is no good or bad temperament, there are only strengths and weaknesses that you need to know and build your life in accordance with them.
