“Striving for the best, we often spoil the good” William Shakespeare
We think that if we reach our ideal, we will become happier, we will receive recognition and love from people. We believe in what is impossible in the real world. You will never be able to reach your ideal of perfection that you have established. This is a kind of standard that you picked up from TV, the Internet, Hollywood life, reading Forbes magazine or men's magazines.
You will never look like models, you will not be able to pump up the biggest muscles in the world, have the most expensive car and get a beauty from Miss Universe. But it normal. You cannot be perfect, but you can be good. Satisfying the desires of perfection is impossible. This will drive you into stress, depression, and low self-esteem. But you can always be better than yourself yesterday.
Not being perfect, but being good
1. Build up a good body. Go to the gym and make yourself a better body than you are now. Don't become Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lee Haney, or Phil Heath. Not to become a champion, but to become a good one. To pump up not perfect, but a nice and attractive body.
3. Build privacy. Find yourself a good girlfriend and start a family. Not models or stars. The beauties of Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lawrence or Emily Ratajkowski are too out of reach. Give yourself a girl to your soul and body. A lot of them. Every day they ride with you in transport, meet on the streets or live in the neighborhood.
Best the enemy of the good. Criticize yourself less often and don't try to do the impossible. You don't have to be the perfect version of yourself. Stop comparing your life to others. Do what makes you happy now. Nobody in the world is perfect and there is nothing to get hung up on. Love yourself. You're not perfect, but you're good.
There are no ideally beautiful, ideally rich, ideally smart, ideally cheerful. There are good people who cling, so be that.
Not being perfect, but being good.
