Sometimes it seems that you are too slow and sluggish person? Do others all have time faster and have been ahead of you for a long time? As a result of excessive slowness, you do not have time to realize your plans, or you move too slowly. How to live faster, fighting slowness?
Are you constantly late, or do you do everything end-to-end and at the last moment? Are you pulling to the last with making decisions that you miss all the opportunities and chances? All the people around them achieve what they want faster, and you always hustle on the spot?
Does any thing take a long time? A five-minute task takes hours, while a more complex task is very slow? Do you like to procrastinate by doing various useless things? Coffee break, reading social media, cleaning the desk and other nonsense, but just unnecessary things. Sound familiar?
How to deal with slowness? How not to be slow?
1. Self-doubt and inner fears
Slowness is often caused by self-doubt. You do not believe that you can achieve and do something. You don't believe in yourself and your dreams. Indecision forces you to procrastinate in order to avoid an annoying defeat.
You insure yourself against failures and mistakes by postponing things indefinitely. It's easier than crashing again. Most likely you are not slow, but not decisive enough. Are you timid or do you have the right to your dream?
2. Avoiding planning and discipline
The inability to plan your work day and follow the plan clearly is the reason for the slowness. Make a concrete plan for the day that you will stick to. Shake yourself up by starting to do only important things, ignoring your whims and weaknesses.
How to deal with slowness? Get up at the same time and go to bed too. Do everything according to the schedule, not allowing yourself to be lazy. This will allow you not to be so slow, and things will start to be done much faster. Do everything according to the plan for the day, week, month and year. When there is a clear program, everything becomes easier. Provide clear deadlines for each task.
Run 25-45 minute productivity cycles using the Pomodoro Method. Download an application that allows you to work effectively in short cycles of 25 minutes of work, giving 5 minutes of rest. It helps you stay focused and more productive. The speed of work will increase.
3. Excessive laziness and indulgence
Why are you so slow, and life is barely moving? Perhaps you do not like to work, but prefer to give yourself time to rest and laziness. You have weak discipline and even weaker willpower. You cannot force yourself to do what is important, and therefore you look for excuses for yourself in various useless things. Watch TV, surf the Internet, or go lazy in some other way.
You are not slow, but a lazy person who does not want to strain. You are satisfied with the existing reality, and dreams are too weak. You don't want to move. As Artemy Lebedev said: “How to motivate yourself to do something? No way, stay in the ass!"
4. Uncertainty and indecision
Sometimes you don't know what to do, and therefore you hesitate. Endlessly ponder different options and nuances. Trying to pick the perfect moment, the perfect plan, and the perfect solution. You hesitate and try to calculate in order to avoid confusion. But it doesn't work that way.
At one point, a situation arises when it makes no sense to continue to receive information, to think further and to wait any longer. It's time for action. You will correct the plan already in the course of the battle and actions. Get started, don't wait for the perfect moment and the perfect plan that never will be.
5. Misplaced priorities
How to deal with slowness? Everyone knows the Pareto principle, when 20% of actions bring 80% of the result. And the remaining 80% of cases bring only 20% of the result. In life, we do a lot of things that take a lot of time, but do not affect the overall result.
Throw away everything that is unnecessary to concentrate on the remaining 20% of effective actions. Do only what will bring maximum results. Highlight the most important thing in life, and forget the empty. Identify growth points for yourself. Now push. Using the Pareto principle will allow you to make a leap forward.
Excessive slowness does not allow you to achieve what you want when others overtake you at every turn. How to deal with slowness? Shake it up, pull yourself together and push. It’s too boring to sit on the sidelines when others have long since driven away towards their dreams.
