The whole world is built on bluff and the ability to use it. Business, politics, advertising, love affairs, flirting and relationships with others. Everything is built on promises, most of which are never fulfilled. In life, sometimes you have to pretend, confuse and mislead in order to achieve something very desirable. Do you want a lot of money, a high position, tremendous power, a crowd of friends, real respect and bright love? Bluff.
What is a bluff? This concept came to us from maps. Bluffing is a behavior in a poker game that gives the opponent the impression that you have much stronger cards than you actually have. Bluffing allows you to win at a time when the odds are minimal or none at all. Using bluffing too often is unwise, as is giving it up.
Why is bluffing useful off the table? Poker is a simplified model of human relationships in life. It uses psychological techniques that can be used in life, not just at the poker table.
Poker is a good and smart game. Poker teaches you how to take advantage, how to back down, and sometimes bluff. Don't think bluffing is cheating. It's a game. Not everyone is destined to be born beautiful, rich, successful. But everyone can become one if they know how to bluff.
