Final of the New Names BFW Young Designers Competition. This season, the participants of the competition were tasked with developing collections according to the general theme of the fashion week “I love BFW, I love Belarus”.
On November 13, the final of the New Names BFW competition for young designers took place on the podium of Belarus Fashion Week. The guests of the final show not only saw 6 diverse collections presented to the audience and the jury of the competition, but also learned the name of the winner, who will create a collection for the competition partner company, the Navy brand.
This season, the participants of the competition were tasked with developing collections according to the general theme of the fashion week “I love BFW, I love Belarus”.
At the same time, the motto of the Fashion Week became a creative task, on the basis of which they, when creating collections, had to be inspired by the Belarusian history, culture and national costume. According to the results of two qualifying rounds, out of 25 collections, 6 remained consisting of five images - they were demonstrated on the main podium of the country.
Black and white tops depicting pets (cows and goats), elegant wide-leg pants, floral appliqués of cornflowers and poppies that seem to have blossomed on jackets and dresses, red fringe, knits and denim, traditional Belarusian ornament on summer dresses and skirts - all this could be seen by the guests of the show in the creative collections of the participants.
After the demonstration of the competitive collections, the jury had time to think, and the audience received a bonus - a show of the Honar brand. These are casual, very intelligent clothes in black and white colors using traditional Belarusian ornament - in the form of embroidery on collars, straps, cuffs.
Note that in order to make the right choice, the jury of the competition visited the participants before the show behind the stage, talked with the applicants, appreciated the changes made and how young people know how to listen to the opinions of competent people.
The winner of the competition was Alexandra Zhuk, who for the next six months will work with Navy on the collection, which she will present on the BFW catwalk in April 2015. Also, representatives of the partner noted the work of Anna Zuenok, promising that she would also be involved in cooperation.
