Years go by inexorably, and over time you begin to experience disappointment in your unremarkable life. All this is due to the fact that you did not have real and specific goals to which you would strive.
Setting goals correctly is the key to achieving success and personal growth. Without specific goals, you will slowly drift with the flow of life, rarely achieving the desired result.
Years go by and from time to time you begin to experience disappointment in your mediocre and unremarkable life, in which development and personal growth are completely absent. This is all due to the fact that you did not have specific goals to which you would strive.
Your goals are a guide to help you move in the right direction. Goal setting is the starting point of your route, no matter which direction you are moving.
“From everything I've learned in life, setting goals right has had the most powerful effect on my life. Every part of my being - my achievements, my income, my bank accounts, my lifestyle, my charity work and even my personality have changed for the better.”- Jim Rohn
Where to begin?
Divide your goals into categories
You can choose any categories for your purposes. You don't have to categorize them at all if you don't want to. But dividing them into several areas of your life will allow you to work on each separately and balance between them. This way, you don't miss out on other important and meaningful things.

Examples of categories to which your goals can be attributed:
Family goals
Health goals
Hobbies, sports, games
Career goals
Improving well-being
Personal growth
Charity
What do you want? Make a decision
Your decisions about what you want to achieve, have, or who you want to become play a fundamental role in goal setting. Your goals should only concern you and be personal, individual. This is what you want, not other people.
Write down your goals
Start by sitting down, thinking hard, and writing down your goals. Making a list of goals will kickstart and start the process of making them come true. Also, once you write down, you will never forget your goals, because writing down something, a person remembers much better. You use almost all types of memory.
Set deadlines
Now that you've made a list of your goals, set a timeline for achieving each of them. When do you want to reach them? In a year, three, five or 10 years?
Break them apart
One of the reasons people fail, delay decisions, and “put off until tomorrow” after writing down a list of goals is to feel overwhelmed. They don't know how or where to start.
Now pick the 4 most important goals for you that you want to achieve over the next year. If you divided them into categories, choose 4 from each category, if not, just choose the 4 most important and meaningful goals for you.

Reasons or "why?"
Knowing the reasons why you want to achieve your goals is very important. Go through all 4 goals and determine why you want to achieve them. If these are truly your goals, it shouldn't be difficult.
Write down your plans and strategies for their implementation
"Seven times measure cut once".
So planning and preparation is essential to setting goals correctly. Plan ahead and prioritize your actions.
Think about what knowledge you might need and how you can acquire it. Focus on action. Consider all your options for success. You can start to act and then gradually think over a further plan, or you can plan everything in advance and only then start to act. Choose what you like.
Take action
Develop discipline and take action every day. Discipline will help you get things done, whether you like it or not. Understand the price that must be paid to be successful. Take risks and act boldly, even if you have to feel discomfort for a while.
Take action every day, take a small but confident step every day towards personal growth. Make it a rule for yourself at the end of each day to check the list of activities that you have completed. All these small daily activities combined will bring you success.
Evaluate the results
Have you done well on any item on your list? Fine. Cross it out. Rejoice and celebrate a small victory. Add a new target to the list. Keep adding to your goals list. You were able to develop an effective strategy. Repeat it and you will be successful again.
