In the upcoming season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, Asia's most popular designer Somchai Kaewthong, known as Kai, will present his new collection.
From 18 to 22 October 2012, the 25th anniversary Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia will be held in Moscow. More than 50 designers from Russia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Italy and the USA will present their collections at the new main site of the Fashion Week - in the Central Exhibition Hall "Manezh" (Manezhnaya Square, 1). The participants will show the collections of the Spring-Summer 2013 season.
In the upcoming season, in addition to the headliners of the Russian Fashion Week Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, the most popular Asian designer Somchai Kaewthong, known as Kai, will present his new collection. Back in 1968, Kai opened his first boutique in Bangkok, but to this day he is the last of the true Thai couturiers. Kaya's Atelier produces hand-sewn and bespoke garments for daytime and evening events. Kai has created looks and clothing for many women, making them feel special. He has dressed many celebrities in Asia, among whom were the first ladies, but he considers the design of clothes for the Thai royal family to be his main achievement and a source of pride.
Elle Thailand has named Kai "the legendary designer of Thailand." Kai is also a popular fashion expert, and frequently lectures at prestigious fashion design departments across the country, as well as at events hosted by various professional and social clubs.
On October 21, 2012, at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, Kai will present its new collection.
"The largest Fashion Week in Eastern Europe", as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia is called, is not the first time receiving guests from Thailand. In 2009, the Princess of Thailand opened Fashion Week at the WTC Congress Center. Princess Sirivannavari demonstrated her fashion collection Ethnic Rock at Russian Fashion Week.
