One of the strongest and most beautiful Thai boxers in the world, three-time world champion, Ekaterina Vandaryeva goes to the main tournament in the world of Thai boxing - the world championship in the most prestigious and most difficult version of IFMA, which will be held from 5 to 13 September in St. Petersburg. - Ekaterina, how did you prepare for the World Cup? Were there any injuries?

- I initially prepared for the tournament at the training camp with our entire national team of Belarus in the sports complex "Stayki", where I had to face some difficulties. Because I went to the training camp right after the summer vacation, and without my coach, it turned out that the load was not given correctly, and already in the first days the muscles were heavily hammered, a state of "overtraining" appeared, because of which I could not fully train. But as soon as I left the training camp and started training in my home club, the condition of the muscles and the body as a whole returned to normal, and I was able to work at full strength and continue to grow. Everything was done without injuries.

- As far as we know, your weight category is included in the program of the martial arts Olympiad, which will be held in 2013. You are considered one of the main contenders. How do you rate your chances? Do you feel responsible to the country?

- Responsibility and pressure is felt from all sides, because only three women's weight categories are included in the Olympiad program, including mine, up to 54 kg. But I try not to think about it or worry, even though it's hard. I know that many countries send their strongest athletes to my weight class. After all, only two girls, the finalists of the World Championship, will receive a ticket to the Olympics. I am not thinking about anything, because everyone knows how unpredictable women's fights are. If I can mentally tune in, everything will be in my hands and victory is first of all, the main thing in this matter is not to worry and believe in yourself.

- Who do you consider your main rival? And, in your opinion, will the Belarusian national team be able to win the first team place?

- I think the main competition for me personally will be athletes from the national teams of Ukraine, Morocco and France. As for the overall command place, several times we have become the strongest in the world in terms of command places. However, at the moment the host of the championship is Russia, which has significantly improved in recent years and the main task at the “home” championship will be to win the first team place. In Belarus, we pin our hopes on gold on such champions as Andrey Kulebin, Denis Goncherenok, Vitaly Gurkov, Andrey Zayats, Dmitry Valent, etc. In the Russian national team, Levin Artyom, Vakhitov Artem, etc. are highly likely to win gold.

- Katya, I would like to ask you about your plans for the future ?! Many of your fans see you in the modeling business. Do you plan to give up sports? Isn't it a pity for such a beautiful appearance?

- No, there is nothing to regret, because sport only makes us better, stronger and more confident in ourselves. For five years I have not even had a serious injury. Moreover, I never forget that I am, first of all, a girl, and what I am like in the ring and in life - these are two different people. I will quit sports when there is a good reason for this: a family or an interesting job for me, where I can express myself and grow up the career ladder. In the meantime, I have a lot of plans and fights for the fall. A week after the World Championship I will fight for the world title among professionals in England, and on October 11 I will take part in the tournament in Moscow according to the W5 version.

- Well, thank you, Ekaterina. All Belarus is rooting for you and the team, we wish you good luck, and most importantly, victory. Take care of yourself.
