So why did such a pretty girl, whom many call "Miss Muay Thai" not go to the model, as all girls with good looks usually do, but chose so much unfeminine and difficult sport ?! We decided to find out about this from Ekaterina Vandaryeva herself.
Let's take an example of Ekaterina Vandaryeva - one of the most beautiful and strong Thai boxers in the world.
Often, many people, seeing a beautiful girl in front of them, do not even realize that such a fragile person can do more than spend hours in front of a mirror, or visit all possible beauty salons, so that God forbid this beauty is gone, and so moreover, hardly exhausts himself with any work. Seeing Ekaterina Vandaryeva in life, many think the same thing, and few people realize that this seemingly fragile and feminine young girl will never give herself offense, and even less worries about every bruise on her body, because Katya is one of the strongest fighters in the world; two-time European champion and three-time world champion in one of the toughest martial arts - Thai boxing, or as it is also called Muay Thai. In addition, in 2011 she was awarded the title of "Best Fighter of the 2011 World Championship" according to the most difficult and prestigious version of IFMA.

-Katya, the first question for you will be this: like all professional boxers, you also have, so to speak, a fighting name - Barbie. At first glance, it is very harmless and not scary, although I think already at this stage it causes horror among rivals who know you. Who gave you that nickname? Why? And how many people call you that in everyday life?
- In fact, the nickname Barbie stuck to me at the very beginning of my Thai boxing, the coach and the girls on the team were the first to call me that. I really didn’t like it, because I didn’t want to be a “doll” at all. However, later I noticed that all my acquaintances and friends often say that I have a doll-like appearance, which is very similar to Barbie, and over time I even somehow put up with her, and stopped being offended, realizing that this was all only a characteristic of my appearance, well, what was born, and this is how you need to accept.

-You know, as one very wise philosopher used to say: “Beauty is a great gift. However, everyone who cannot get or use this gift will try to trample on it. " And I completely agree with this, in our modern world there is too much anger and envy, and everyone is saved as they can. I think any beautiful girl, at least once in her life, has faced violence, and this is not even necessarily a suddenly attacked maniac, violence can even be attributed to an overly persistent boyfriend who, not willingly, so forcefully wished to get the object of his passion. And at such moments, of course, not every girl will be able to cope with brute male power. Nowadays, a girl, in order to survive, must be strong, I think that is why they are increasingly turning to the martial arts section. Although I myself went to Muay Thai for a different reason, after watching the series I really wanted to be an investigator and in order to get a good characterization for entering the Ministry of Internal Affairs I went to martial arts, but only I crossed the threshold of the Muay Thai boxing club "Kik Fighter" and saw, how many champions are around, I immediately said to myself, until I become a world champion I will not calm down !! In those moments I didn’t worry about my appearance at all and worked hard, there were times when I didn’t know which leg to limp on and how to hide all these bruises. However, time passed, I became the world champion a year later, but I did not calm down and continued to win awards, while the bruises were getting less, and now they almost never happen. Therefore, thanks to boxing, on the contrary, I have a toned body, a hardened spirit, and most importantly, without any consequences from sports.

-Yes, I once had to seriously defend myself, when a maniac attacked me at the entrance and began to choke me, only when I began to choke, as it happens in the ring from fatigue, the coach's words pounded in my head: “Beat, Katya, beat!” Well, I hit a couple of times, of course, the elbow and bones on the hand from his teeth broke a little, but I think the maniac was much worse. When it collapsed, I ran away from sin, but to be honest, the fear was incredible. It always seems to us that all the worst will happen to someone else, but not to me. But this is not the case. We must realistically assess life and be ready for anything. At that dangerous moment for my life, I thanked God for coming to practice Muay Thai.

After all, not only does she have the opportunity to learn how to defend herself, she can still maintain a beautiful physical shape in this way, and most importantly, there, in the gym, the fair half leaves all her negative energy. Thank you, Ekaterina. Now we know exactly from this example how much benefit such a “non-feminine” sport brings to girls!
