Inter-ego
Inter-ego

Why not offer the market, that is, humanity, immortality as a commodity? I know that a significant number of people are already visiting ideas of this kind.

Is it not reasonable to call a copy of a person "inter-ego" - and this creature, free to be either virtual or material, will have absolute freedom - to live and be and to act, or to transfer itself, tired, into a waiting mode.

The man raised the problem of overcoming death long ago. “No, I will not all die, my soul will survive in the cherished lyre and escape decay” - this is a translation-retelling of an ancient Greek poet.

All creativity is the embodiment of the most intimate, the most essential in a person - in a material (carrier) that is aging and subject to destruction, but also restoration. With the advent of audio and video media, creators who embodied their creativity in themselves - singers and artists - also got the opportunity to overcome the threshold of death.

The well-known "desire for glory" is the desire to step over this threshold.

Modern civilization has not yet approached, but it is rapidly approaching the state when the triad of creator - product of creation - consumer-observer can be given an interactive function. In cash we have an “arrow of time”, once shot from the past into the future, but there is no way to influence the past, the very course of events. In other words, when one person asks a question and the other answers it, then their dialogue can be understood as a chemical equation, where arrows are directed in both directions, and concepts, words and all other signals affect each other. Or do not act - then "the conversation did not work out." So in a chemical reaction, some substances react violently to each other, others slowly and calmly, and still others are inert.

What can you do at home?
What can you do at home?
I am sadly surprised by the leaders of the computer business, who are busy with sheer nonsense - such as that their laptops and mobile phones were at least half a millimeter thinner than those of competitors, and teenagers, who want to be “cool”, buy, buy and buy.

Why not offer the market, that is, humanity, immortality as a commodity?

I know that a significant number of people are already visiting ideas of this kind. But I do not yet know that someone clearly articulates the problem. In my opinion, the most reasonable thing is to start with this.

The very movement along this path is already underway. Unconsciously, but faster and faster. I mean that any Internet user is already, so to speak, admitted to the Grail. There are, for example, among postal services (there is no need to name it so as not to be suspected of paid advertising) those that offer rather spacious storage for digitized material. And they, these traces of our existence, being digitized, are already protected from deformation. If the permafrost could as reliably protect the DNA information of ancient animals as the “digital”, then mammoths, Siberian woolly rhinos or saber-toothed tigers in the near future would walk in open-air cages with signs “Don't feed the animals” - and unreasonable people would still they were fed! But maybe it will be possible to go through the whole difficult and delicate path of reconstruction? Rather yes than no.

Go crazy: what to do if you haven't walked up and gone crazy
Go crazy: what to do if you haven't walked up and gone crazy

Anyone who is already worried that his traces of being on the Internet, including information about visited sites, his letters, photos, video / audio, are saved to the maximum, is he worried … about eternal life? Oh, the author - an atheist - should not resort to such formulations. Just one remark aside: if such, eternal life, that is, destined for a person, it would not be bliss, but an unimaginable torment. So let’s not reproach the “builders of faith” for their lack of imagination. Better, let us give thanks for those good and many fruits brought up by the Judeo-Christian civilization. But this is not the topic of our conversation.

Is it not reasonable to call a copy of a person an inter-ego - and this being, free to be either virtual or material, will have absolute freedom - to be and to act or to transfer itself, tired, into a waiting-asleep mode. There is no need to fantasize in more detail. The life that we are actually living now is more fantastic than the forecasts of science fiction writers of the past, even the most talented ones. No wonder none of them, even the smallest, guessed the appearance of the Internet.
