When the Internet opened in our country and gradually became available to the broad masses of the uneducated public, online forums began to burst with a stream of common questions, such as “how to screw a light bulb”, “how to unscrew a light bulb” and “is it not dangerous to walk in front of a child naked”? So, if the advice about the light bulb was quite sensible, then they wrote about naked parents, basically, various nonsense - who in what way.
I am not trying to clarify this issue. I am not a psychologist, not a nudist, not a measure of morality. I am a rather unscrupulous bully, harmless, loving to mock things that are sacred for the electorate.
But, like any sexually mature individual, I strive for procreation and prefer to comprehend some things in advance, rather than later clumsily and absurdly dock my personal life with someone else's newborn existence. And on the agenda is such a biblical taboo as the naked body.
Non-Russian actor Jeff Bridges in 2004 played an excellent role in the film "Door in the Floor". In addition to the incessant personal drama, the director highlighted what topic there: dad sleeps naked, not embarrassed by the child. The daughter comes to his bedroom and between "I want to eat" and "good morning" casually notes: "Dad has a funny penis." Dad agrees. I think the most reasonable thing about a child is not to focus on the genital area. After all, for him this is an ordinary part of the body - like an arm or a head. Of course, at a certain age, the child himself begins to realize himself as a sexual unit - this is probably laid down by nature, if by this we mean the force that has settled us on the planet. He climbs into his panties and willingly looks into strangers. He looks into the adjacent toilet, plays sex games in kindergarten, and touches himself.
People of the old formation react to such things boredom in the same way. They shout at the child, shame him (often in front of strangers), promise to tell everything to the parents. The girl suddenly finds out that it is embarrassing to look at a naked boy. And the boy is surprised that someone can forbid him to poke around in his household. He begins to understand why the Lithuanian peasants treated collective farms like that!
The feeling of shame, for all its falsity, is necessary in our country. Our people are too addicted
Imagine an undressed person who goes out into the street without any false shame. And there is 5 degrees Fahrenheit! This, by the way, is 258, 15 degrees Kelvin or minus 15 Celsius. Or another example - a naked man is traveling in a trolley bus to work and suddenly he felt the urge to touch his genitals. He has a briefcase in one hand, and with the other he lets go of the handrail and begins to massage his penis. Nobody pays attention - it's a common thing! Here the trolleybus stops abruptly, and the man falls on his back and breaks the back of his head in blood. So shame is sometimes appropriate.
There are, however, several problems that I do not know how to resolve. For example, many parents react unexpectedly sharply when a child catches them naked. This often scares the child, he thinks that he did something bad - a complex is created. Further - with age, it is still better to hide your best parts in some kind of leggings or skirts made of banana leaves. First, understand that the years go by, and you do not become more presentable, including everything. Secondly, watching constantly naked mother, the boy will subconsciously look for a woman similar to you. If one of your breasts was crushed in the subway, it's not scary - there are a lot of them now, the boy will still have a wide choice. Well, if you have a tattoo on your bust "All your life to waste" in Kazakh - where should he look for a second such original? Girls, watching a naked father at an age, are unlikely to feel a craving for men in general, I'm not talking about baked apples.
It is necessary to distinguish between different types of shame - shame as an internal censor, social shame, conscience and what makes us refrain from crime, and so on. Shame is a very multifaceted phenomenon. Hundreds of copies of eminent psychologists and sociologists have been broken. Freud sculpted one thing, Aristotle humped another, Lombroso amazed the imagination with its clarity, and the Christian orthodoxy, on the contrary, out of habit, just in case, muddied the water. I justify genital shame only in one aspect - as an obstacle to incest. But this is a topic for another big conversation.
In the end, I would like to draw another allegory from the same film "Door in the Floor". The daughter finds her mother having sex with a guy who came to assist her husband, a famous writer. The girl is not concerned with questions of marital fidelity, especially her mother's. But she inadvertently retells what she saw to her dad. The family life of the heroes of the film has long been going downhill, and it's not their fault - that's not the point. Jeff Bridges gives the assistant a dressing down for only one thing - the child saw lovers in a doggy pose. I think you can dig deep here. And regarding the topic of this article in particular.
