The car, equipped with a 550-horsepower unit and an all-wheel drive system, is capable of accelerating to 100 km / h in just 2.2 seconds - faster than Formula 1 cars. Extreme capabilities Saab - Saab.
On Saturday, September 19th, the Saab Performance Drive IV event took place in Moscow at the Khodynskoye Pole. For the fourth time, the team of the Swedish automobile company Saab visited Moscow with an extreme show. Members of this team are former rally drivers. She showed her stunts on the Saab 9-3 in the SportSedan 2.0t Biopower version with a manual transmission and the Saab 9-3 in the Convertible version with a locking rear differential. The car, equipped with a 550-horsepower unit and an all-wheel drive system, can accelerate to 100 km / h in just 2.2 seconds - faster than Formula 1 cars. The cars were not specially prepared, anyone can buy them in the salon. The only refinement that pilots allow themselves is a "welded" differential, without which it is difficult to ride on two wheels.
The event contained an advertising character: to show the technical capabilities of cars in extreme conditions. The skill of the pilots and the technical characteristics of the cars delighted the public. At a fairly high speed, four pilots from Sweden demonstrated group backward snake riding, synchronized maneuvers, bumper-to-bumper braking in oncoming traffic, stunning 180 and 360-degree turns, and burnt rubber under a roar of applause. But what impressed me most was the two-wheel drive on the Saab 9-3 in the Convertible version.

Technical characteristics of cars
Equipped with a low-pressure turbine, in the gasoline version, these cars produce 175 hp, but in the Biopower version, gasoline is only 15%, and the remaining 85% of the fuel is bioethanol. This increases the power of the car to 200 hp. In order for the car to drive exactly the way the pilots want it, removing the appropriate fuses on these cars deactivates the ABS, electronic brake force regulator (EBD), traction control system (TCS), and airbags. Well, in order for the handbrake to become a full-fledged control body, allowing "to perform aerobatics", the tension of the parking brake cable is also adjusted.

What's more, the SAAB 9-3 Sport Sedan won the popular Top Safety Pick Award in 2007 from the Insurance and Highway Safety Institute. For the third year in a row, the SAAB brand has withdrawn the highest honor from this American competition.
The 2007 SAAB 9-3 Sport Sedan has the stiffest body ever built for a Saab. Including this allowed the car to get the maximum “5 stars” on the EuroNCAP tests.
This car is especially good in motion. Its stability on the road is also determined by the very low coefficient of aerodynamic drag.
The 9-3 accelerates to 100 km / h in 6, 7 s. The maximum speed of the car is 245 km / h.
