Brain gymnastics is the key to developing your child's abilities! The development of the child's brain. Help develop the child's abilities. The human brain is a "community" of functionally asymmetric hemispheres - left and right. Each of them is not a mirror image of the other, but a necessary addition. It takes both hemispheres to think creatively about any problem.

The left hemisphere - the logical one highlights the most important key points in each problem, and the right hemisphere - the creative one - grasps it as a whole. It is the right hemisphere, thanks to its most important function - intuition, that helps to understand the situation and formulate an idea, even if delusional, but often non-standard and often correct.

Take a look at this list, where the areas of specialization of each of them are conditionally divided, and you will see how important the full-fledged work of the right hemisphere is for the formation and development of a creative personality.

Left hemisphere: responsible for logical-analytical thinking;

analyzes the facts;

processes information sequentially in stages (sequential thinking);

provides the processes of inductive thinking (first, the process of analysis is carried out, and then the synthesis);

processes verbal information, is responsible for language abilities, controls speech, as well as the ability to read and write;

remembers lines of poetry, facts, names, dates and their spelling;

understands only the literal meaning of what we hear or read;

planning the future;

controls the movements of the right half of the body;

How to ensure effective interaction of the hemispheres and develop their abilities?

With the help of a set of special "kinesiological exercises", which were developed and tested by the American Ph. D. Paul Dennison, the founder of the doctrine of "educational kinesiology" (from the Greek "kinesis" - movement, "logos" - science). Paul Dennison and his wife, Gail, have discovered the enormous potential of natural physical movement that can be used to successfully develop and learn in both child and adult. Their discoveries formed the basis of a program called Brain Gymnastics. This program is a set of exercises that promote the development of interhemispheric specialization and interhemispheric interaction.

“Brain gymnastics” resembles a regular exercise and is easy to perform.

Here are a few exercises from the complex:

Ear massage

Massage your earlobes, then the entire auricle. At the end of the exercise, rub your ears with your hands.

Ring

Alternately, and as quickly as possible, touch your fingers, connecting the index, middle, etc. in a ring with the thumb in sequence. The test is performed in a forward and reverse (from the little finger to the index finger) order. First, the exercise is performed with each hand separately, then with two hands at once.

Fist-rib-palm

The child is shown three positions of the hand on the plane of the table, successively replacing each other. Palm on a plane, palm clenched into a fist, palm with an edge on the plane of the table, straightened palm on the plane of the table. The child performs the test together with the teacher, then from memory for 8 - 10 repetitions of the motor program. The test is performed first with the right hand, then with the left, then with both hands together. When mastering the program or having difficulties in implementation, the teacher invites the child to help himself with commands ("fist - rib - palm"), pronounced aloud or silently.

Ear - nose

Grasp the tip of the nose with your left hand and the opposite ear with your right hand. Release your ear and nose at the same time, clap your hands, change the position of your hands "exactly the opposite."

Snake

Cross your hands, palms facing each other, interlock your fingers, twist your arms towards you. Move your finger, indicated by the presenter. The finger should move accurately and clearly. Do not touch your finger. All fingers of both hands should be consistently involved in the exercise.

Mirror painting

Place a blank sheet of paper on the table. Take a pencil or felt-tip pen in both hands. Begin to draw with both hands at the same time, mirror-symmetrical drawings, letters. During this exercise, you will feel how your eyes and hands relax. When the activity of both hemispheres is synchronized, the efficiency of the whole brain will increase markedly.

If you decide to apply the exercises "Brain gymnastics" in working with children, then you need to systematically apply them to train certain functions. Give it a try and the results will not be long in coming! Thus, the use of this method in primary school showed that as a result of the systematic performance of kinesiological exercises, children improved memory, attention, speech, spatial representations, fine and gross motor skills, decreased fatigue, and increased the ability to voluntary control.

And in conclusion, a little advice:

Try it yourself and encourage your little one to brush their teeth, comb their hair, take out objects, draw, and even write with their other hand

Research shows that performing a normal action with an “unusual” hand activates new areas of the brain and helps develop new connections between brain cells. So try, experiment. It's not only useful, it's also fun!
