The feeling of the conqueror of seas and oceans: all problems remain behind, freedom and space lie ahead. Buying a yacht. Sailboat cost. Genoese fortress in Gelendzhik.
Anyone who has at least once stood at the helm knows the delightful sensation of the conqueror of seas and oceans: all problems remain behind, freedom and space lie ahead!
Perhaps, after such an experience, a modern person has an idea about his own yacht: what other transport can not only give you the opportunity to learn about the world around you, dashingly plowing the sea, but also become essentially a personal small country on the water, in which you are the sovereign owner!

Of course, anyone buying a yacht asks a reasonable question: where to keep it? Where, for example, can you get fuel during the flight? And here the first "pitfall" awaits you. Who will take over your dream? Owners of yachts and boats are faced with the problem of storing, servicing and preserving their vessel. The wealthiest residents of the Kuban, as well as Russia as a whole, prefer to park their ships in Turkey, Spain, Greece, Croatia, Tunisia. There the service is more developed, and it comes out cheaper. Lack of normal coastal infrastructure on the Black Sea coast is a long-standing sore issue in Russian yachting. Therefore, our seafarers still prefer to cruise along the shores of the Mediterranean, starting from the coast of Turkey and ending with Gibraltar, in the winter - in the Caribbean, Thailand, and the Cheshire Islands. And they are annoyed that in waters like Gelendzhik Bay, as if deliberately created by nature for the active development of yachting in Russia, there is no possibility of basing. Of course, in the Krasnodar Territory there are yacht clubs, even operating marinas (parking lots), but so far there are only a few of them. One of the small marinas, for example, is located on the shore of Lake Salt (Serpentine) in the yacht club "Fort Utrish", which is 17 km from Anapa. Even in strong storms, the water area here remains calm, which allows for safe year-round anchorage on the water, as well as the operation of ships.
"Corsica!" - exclaimed one of the foreign tourists who visited these places not so long ago. The panorama of Utrish is impressive: emerald green forest, rocky mountain cliffs, bizarre coastal bends, endless sea distance … Today the yacht club "Fort Utrish" provides services for the parking of motor and sailing vessels with a draft of up to 3 m and a length of 25 m, and also on their maintenance: lifting / launching, refueling. The mooring operates all year round and is carried out on the water, so the only thing you need to go out to sea is just to give up the mooring lines. Vessels in the mooring are provided with shore power, fresh water, the berths of the yacht club are equipped with lockers for storing shipowners' inventory. The territory of the yacht club is guarded around the clock, video is being kept. But this is just a small marina in Utrish that does not solve the general problem. She is a drop in the sea of possibilities of the Black Sea coast of Russia. After all, yachting is not only the lifestyle of tens of thousands of people, but also a very profitable direction for the development of the tourism industry in the country!
Money "on the barrel"
In the United States, more than $ 15 million worth of yachts are built annually. In Greece, a single yacht charter business, numbering approximately 4,500 yachts, brings in 2 billion euros a year. Turkey earns almost the same amount every year.
"In Istanbul, in the largest Turkish yacht club" Atakou Marina "on the coast of the Sea of Marmara, - Gelendzhik yachtsman-traveler Vlad Pasko shared his impressions with us, - there are about five thousand ships. And each one pays $ 100-150 per day for parking. ".
It means that there is a sense, and a benefit, and a prospect. Why is the yacht business developing so slowly in our country, in particular, in the vast Black Sea water area? There are several reasons for this. The main one is in Russian legislation. According to the Civil Code, yachts are classified as real estate. Meanwhile, their owners have to pay not only real estate tax, but also transport tax. The registration procedure of the floating craft is unnecessarily delayed. In addition, our inland waters are closed to the passage of foreign ships. And, importantly, it is difficult and expensive for a ship to enter our territorial waters under a foreign flag. Many Russians who have ships assigned to Turkish or Greek ports would gladly ferry them to our waters for the summer. But - too troublesome!
Yes, and yachts under the Russian flag will not turn around at sea. According to Vlad Pasko, each exit to the sea must be registered in the border zone, each document indicates the day of the exit to the sea and return. "As soon as the Russian yachtsman deviates from the course, a radio call follows, then a boat to intercept with all the ensuing consequences. For yachts, for example, under the American flag, this problem does not exist," says Vlad.

However, not everything is so hopeless. According to the press service of the All-Russian Sailing Federation, soon our coast will acquire the newest own yacht ports (marinas). The most global project to date is the construction of a five-star marina in Gelendzhik Bay, which has natural protection from almost all winds. Only in winter, a wave can enter here with a strong south and south-west wind, but from these waves the marina will be closed by hinged breakers. According to experts, two years after its opening, there will be a queue, since the price level will be such that the Mediterranean fleet will also come here. After all, few people go on a yacht all year round; it will be beneficial for Europeans to drive boats to Gelendzhik for the winter. Moreover, it will not be just a parking lot, but a whole complex. The central part of the coastal territory will be occupied by a hotel, it is planned to build it in the style of an old Genoese fortress. One of the towers will house a surfing station, and symmetrically to it - a diving station. A separate complex will be made up of luxury apartments, with their own pools in the courtyards, closed parking and other benefits of civilized yachting. It is also planned to locate a children's sports school and a school for skippers (sailing and motor). Restaurants, yacht shops, service stations - all of this is also planned.
An additional area will be the pier itself, 40 meters wide, extending half a kilometer into the sea. It can accommodate over a hundred small sailing boats during regattas.
It is planned to build a port-marina on Malaya Zemlya in Novorossiysk, another new marina is planned to open in Lazarevskaya Bay. A large house with 200 apartments is being built here on the seashore. And near it there will be a modern berth for 250-300 seats. Restaurants and shops will be equipped on the first floor, while the second and third floors are planned for a small hotel for yachtsmen.
In Anapa, for the construction of a real marina, you must first invest in wave breakers, since the city, unfortunately, is open to all winds. But the depths here are shallow, and it is possible to protect the bay. The new marina will be able to accommodate about 250 cruising yachts.
There are projects for the construction of marinas in Sochi, near Tuapse. But … According to the head of the regional cruising and sailing school Eduard Cherny, in order to create a network of yacht ports on the Black Sea coast of Russia, it is necessary to coordinate many federal departments. Firstly, the existence of a law on the same yacht ports, which has been under consideration for many years in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and which the deputies will never reach. Secondly, in the existing legislation it is very vaguely spelled out how to get water, recreational territory, how to build hydraulic structures, and much more. But the devotees do not lose their optimism and are sure that the construction of Russian yacht ports is the near future, as well as the creation of a single route ring for the Black Sea "around the world". After all, now the traffic of tourist ships ends at the Turkish coast. Ideally, marinas should be located within a day's crossing of each other. Then the attractiveness of the Black Sea coast of Russia for tourists and yachtsmen will increase many times. Our region has long been interested in the sailing world, the main thing is to create the necessary conditions here.
Have you changed your mind about becoming a conqueror of seas and oceans yet? No? And it is right! All the economic prerequisites for a yacht boom in Russia are there, so, believe me, it's worth thinking about buying your own yacht right now.
